Founded by Grady Mathews in downtown Sacramento, Capitol Clutch & Brake started as a small clutch rebuilding shop. By the late 70s, the company expanded to a larger facility in West Sacramento to meet growing demand. Grady’s son, Vince, joined the family business in the early 70s and continues to lead the company today alongside his son, Adam, who joined the business in 2016.
